In the wake of Hurricane Katrina PBRC
has received generous offers of help for
pit bulls and their families who have
been affected by this disaster.
Please note that PBRC has no way to
follow up on the offers of assistance or
coordinate efforts to match up victims
and offers. The individuals listed have
NOT been screened or approved by PBRC,
nor is this listing an endorsement of
those listed. This is simply a resource
created for Katrina victims.
If you are a victim of the recent
disaster and need assistance, please
work to verify these offers, talk with
people on the phone and ask for
references before agreeing to turn over
a dog to them. It may be helpful to
contact a rescue group or shelter in the
area that may assist you with following
up on the offer and meeting with the
person. You can view a list of known pit
bull rescues here:

Pit bull Rescue Central assumes no
responsibility should you choose to
follow up with one of these offers. It
is the sole responsibility of the
caretaker to investigate and ensure the
legitimacy of any offers of assistance.
